Latest corrlinks update:l we no longer can do bulk newsletters through USPS due to the use of three party mailing by the WIDOC- so for now We send updates= to a few at a time, these change often as events evolve:
(note: updates go to prisoners who have the prisoner email system, "CORRLINKS", a few at a time, we also have a DESTRESS NEWSLETTER and a 10 page newsletter for those in solitary who cannot get corrlinks and those without funds for corrlinks, or who do not have the tablets and must use the common site, "the Kiosk", which allows only a very short time for viewing)
Families for a Second Chance- this is our new group, now made up of prisoner family members, 3 former litigator prisoners who want to help, and 3 dedicated advocates. This may well have longevity as Everyone in the group has been trudging along alone in the WIDOC swamp and seems delighted to finally share.
we meet every Wednesday at 5 pm via ZOOM. Email me for link; pgswan3@aol.com.If you do not have computer, you can join via phone.
projects:
1) what we do at weekly meetings ( all are invited)
prisoner advocacy is one of the main things we do in out group- discuss cases family members bring up and connect them to the larger view- because of the amount of cumulative experience shared there is much hope for real change. we are reaching out to legislators on the correction committees and are working on effectively connecting litigators our here with those entombed inside. Our biggest goal i to reinstate WIDOC accountability: force, through advocacy and public education , a return of the WIDOC to its stated mission to rehabilitate prisoners and to keep the public safe. it does neither now.
The latest expose of the depth of corruption is our submission of a PLEA FOR INVESTIGATION OF THE WIDOJ by the USDOJ. This was submitted 3 23 via email with links on the web. WE will be expanding the webpost now, using it as an organizing tool. Here are the ongoing cases FFUP is working on. It will be changing all the time and will be a place where we can all share.
